You Can Go Home Again
Pudentilla observed in her recent trip to visit family in her home town that there has been an innovation in religious observation since she left Chicago's Catholic climes: the Polka Mass. She would like to thank her those brave young girls with guitars for bravely pioneering the "Guitar Mass" in the face of bitter parish opposition when she was young. To think we fought to sing "Michael Row the Boat Ashore" more than 30 years ago so that aging ethnics in the suburbs of Chicago could sing "Dancing a Polka to Heaven" this morning.
In fairness, she should note that in those same suburbs she saw quite a large number of Obama signs (only one for Keyes). Thirty years ago she would never have imagined that would be possible either.
