Why Worry Their Pretty Little Heads About This

The New York Times > International > Middle East > Tracking the Weapons: Huge Cache of Explosives Vanished From Site in Iraq: "The huge facility, called Al Qaqaa, was supposed to be under American military control but is now a no man's land, still picked over by looters as recently as Sunday. United Nations weapons inspectors had monitored the explosives for many years, but White House and Pentagon officials acknowledge that the explosives vanished sometime after the American-led invasion last year."

The White House said President Bush's national security adviser, Condoleezza Rice, was informed within the past month that the explosives were missing. It is unclear whether President Bush was informed.

Rummy's known about this for more than a year and mentioned it to Condi, the National Security Advisor, within the last month? A pound of this stuff blew up the plane at Lockerbie and they just bothered (no doubt when they realized the SCLM had the story) to tell the National Security Advisor. Sounds like the boys at the Ministry of Excuses* aren't even bothering anymore to pretend she has any role in the Global War On Terror. Oh, and they knew the stuff was stored at the site but forgot to guard it. We will not hold our breath waiting for offers of resignation. They are too busy, no doubt, trying to figure out how to blame Clinton for this.
