They’ll spend at least a chapter on the corruption of the media. But the sheer incompetence of the press should be worth five or ten pages as well. Last night we listened to Fresh Air and heard Adam Liptak of the NYT and Ann Marie Squeo of the WSJ dish dirt about the Rove case. We applaud Terry for covering the topic, and perhaps we were a tad cranky, having spent the day skim coating walls in the bedroom, but we about screamed when we heard the exchange on the 12 hour delay between notification to Gonzalez of an investigation and notice to WH employees not to shred anything. Bottom line? “Oh, there’s nothing sinister there. No one’s alleged anything was shredded. No story, forget about it.”

Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.
